In the Gospel of Luke chapter six verse 40 Jesus says, “A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.” Just like hundreds of tyrants before him, Hitler realized the truth of this statement. Thus, if he could centralize the education of German children and wrest it from the hands of the German clergy, he would control the future. Delivering a speech in 1933, Adolf Hitler said, “When an opponent declares, “I will not come over to your side,” I calmly say, “Your child belongs to us already … What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time, they will know nothing else but this new community.”
The ability to summon and direct the will of all Aryan young men into a single-minded force was essential to Hitler’s vision of European dominance. This paramilitary Boy Scout rip-off instructed the German boys in the art of war, changing the Scout’s motto “Be prepared” to “Blood and honor.” By 1935, nearly 60 percent of German boys had enlisted in the Hitler Youth. The group’s influence was inescapable – rival youth organizations dissolved or merged into it, limiting access to opportunities like summer camps and sports facilities exclusively to its members. The program acted as the instrumental key to the future of the “Thousand-Year Reich.” Four years later, an astounding 90 percent of eligible boys in the Greater Reich were part of the Hitler Youth. On March 25, 1939, membership laws tightened, making it compulsory for all Germans aged 10 to 18; non-compliance meant the threat of criminal prosecution, extending even to parents who resisted relinquishing control of their children.
As mentioned in my last article, Educational Mayhem: Your Kids, Their Battlefield, studies found that 88 percent of Generation Z supports the BLM movement, with 57 percent believe in gender fluidity, while 21 percent of Gen Z identifies as LGBTQ+. Furthermore, since 1990, the two major teachers’ unions have directed 95 percent of their political contributions towards Democratic candidates. In German Reformer Martin Luther’s 1520 work, To the Christian Nobility of the German Nation Concerning the Reform of the Christian Estate, he predicts this phenomenon perfectly,“I am afraid that the schools will prove the very gates of hell, unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures and engraving them in the heart of the youth.”
In the first half of the 21st century, as public schools have exposed themselves as the indoctrination arm of the Left, Americans have realized that advocating for a complete overhaul of government school curricula and teaching methods is out of reach. While this is true, another solution has arisen within the nationwide movement for school vouchers. These vouchers allow parents to be financially free to remove their kids from the machine of state education.
While American public schools in the 2022-23 academic year spent an average of $16,390 per pupil, alternative educational options proved more cost-effective. Charter schools, despite being publicly funded, managed to spend an average cost of $9,000 per pupil. Meanwhile, homeschooling expenses range from a frugal $500 to a more comprehensive $2,500 annually. This choice affords families unparalleled flexibility to customize their educational expenditures to suit individual needs.
The appeal of educational alternatives, characterized by freedom and opportunity, has witnessed substantial growth nationwide. As of December 2023, 32 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico, have school choice programs. For example, in the state of Arizona, they have implemented a successful universal school voucher program. Arizona bureaucrats finally acquiesced to parents, allowing taxes to be reallocated to parents and placed in a special account. Fund access is provided through a voucher that can only be used for education-related expenses, such as tuition, books, and supplies. This legislation holds state governments accountable to parents.
Thus, as the Leviathan insists on indoctrinating students with anti-human, God-hating paradigms such as the radical sexual agenda and BLM, it now risks the consequences of parents withdrawing their children, leaving these bureaucracies to bear the cost of their degenerate agenda. This new legislation hits the bureaucrats and the teacher’s unions where it hurts: their wallets. For once, these wasteful, nationally destructive, and morally corrupt schools will be held accountable. Conservatives have, it seems, finally awoken to the reality: we have been losing because they stole the minds of the youth. Since 2010, both homeschooling and charter schooling have more than doubled. This unprecedented growth will have glorious consequences. The seeds planted by today’s faithful parents will grow into tomorrow’s cultural leaders. Though slowly, the ship is indeed beginning to turn. So take courage, for courage is yours for the taking.
