New Guard Press is not a news site or an academic journal. NGP is an online magazine dedicated to thoughtful, reflective contemplation on the highest things and how they relate to our present cultural moment.
Conservative.
Our positive vision rests on the traditions of the West, rooted in Christianity, which we believe will be the bedrock of a great cultural rebirth in statesmanship, the arts, religion, and education.
Letter from the Editor
New Guard Press is driven by more than 35 college students and young professionals from across the nation, united by a deep love for American culture and a desire to renew it. At the heart of that mission is our belief in a Creator — from whom we derive our purpose, our responsibilities to one another, and our commitment to community.
At New Guard Press, we’re dedicated to advancing a thoughtful, hopeful vision of conservatism — one that illuminates a path forward for American culture. Our mission is to give a platform to young intellectual conservatives who share our vision of a cultural revival based upon the Western religious, political, and cultural traditions.
Our team resides everywhere from California to Virginia, and studies at universities like Hillsdale College, Patrick Henry College, UNC Chapel Hill, and Catholic University of America. The thing that unites us is our shared vision for American conservative culture rooted in the traditions we have received.
We don’t simply complain about what’s wrong and lament the culture we are surrounded by — many publications already do that. Instead, we strive to promote a positive vision for the future of our culture that is rooted in the traditions we have received. We aren’t merely pining for a better culture — we are actively working to build, shape, and facilitate it through beautiful and thoughtful writing. In doing so, we are actively building the best network of young conservative intellectuals in the nation.
